The new feature WhatsApp Pay in India has started on Whatsapp. That is, in addition to Whatsapp message and video calling, money can also be transacted. Sending money from this app is as easy as sending a message. NPCI was awaiting approval to implement Whatsapp Pay feature in India.The feature has been approved by the National Payment Corporation of India but only 20 million consumers have received consent to use this service, due to which only 20 million users will be able to use the payment feature of Whatsapp in India.



 Whatsapp Pay:- Overview

Money can be transacted with the help of Whatsapp Pay feature. Whatsapp has a UPI based payment interface. UPI (Unified Payment Interface) released by the National Payment Corporation of India and it is safe and easy to transact money. Money can be sent to all consumers using UPI through Whatsapp Pay. Even you can send money to the one who are not using Whatsapp through your Whatsapp Pay feature.


Terms and Conditions:-
  • Bank Account and Whatsapp Account should have the same Mobile Number.
  • The UPI Pin must be activated.
  • Both the parties (Sender and Receiver) must have UPI Pin activated.


Whatsapp Pay Setting Procedure:-


  • Update the Whatsapp Application from Play Store.
  • After this click on the three dots near the search icon side. After this, if the option of Payments appears in the menu, then only you will be able to set the payment.

  • Now click on the add payment method option.
  • After this, the list of bank names will open. From here, you have to choose the name of the bank with your bank account.
  • After this, click on verify via SMS option.
  • Then you will receive a message on the mobile number linked to your bank account that your registration has started for the UPI App.
  • Now you will be able to transact money through Whatsapp.
  • Now if your UPI Pin is not Verified, then there will be an option for UPI Pin setup.
  • After this you will be able to use the Whatsapp Pay feature.

To send money, the mobile number of the consumer has to be selected in Whatsapp. Then instead of writing an message, Click on attachment icon. You will see the Payment option there, you will have to click on the payment option.Enter the amount need to be transfer, then you need to enter the UPI Pin. Once done, click on Send.
