In this Article we are going to give complete information, step by step, to improve/ Correct Voter Id Card details like name, father's name, address or photo in Voter Id. If all the details like name, DOB, Address etc. in Voter Id Card are not same as in Aadhaar Card, then you may have problems.

Documents required for Voter Id Card Correction:-

If you want to improve the name, DOB and Father's name, then your Aadhaar card will be sufficient for this, but to get address rectified, you have to attach bank passbook, ration card or electricity bill.

The list of some documents are mentioned below, which you may need to get while Voter Id Card Correction.


If any of the above mentioned documents are available, then you can apply online for correction in your Voter Id Card. The whole process completed in two steps:-

  • First - To Register for Voter Id Correction
  • Second - Form 8 to be filled for Voter Card Correction.

How to Register for Voter Card Correction?

  • Visit the Official Website of National Voters Service Portal. Here you have to log in by entering your username and password by clicking on Lofin/Register.

  • Next you will be asked your mobile number, after filling the mobile number and captcha , you have to click on send OTP option.


  • You will have an OTP on your registered mobile number, which has to be verified by clicking on the verify button after putting it in the box.

  • After Verifying the OTP, you have to tick the option "I have the EPIC Number".
  • Next, you have to enter your EPIC Number i.e Voter Id Number, Email Id and Password and click on Register Button.

You will get User Id and Password as soon as you register. Your Email Id will be the User name and password will be the one you have chosen.

Next, you have to to fill form 8 to make correction in Voter Id Card.


How to Fill Voter Id Card Online Correction FORM 8?

  • Visit the NVSP Official Website and click on Login.
  • Enter your User name and Password and click on Login Button.


  • Your Dashboard will be open as soon as you login.Now you have to scroll down and click Forms.

  • Once you click on "Forms", a list of different forms will be opened in front of you. Here you have to click on Form 8.

  • As soon as you click, Form 8 will open in front of you. Here you have to choose your state, district and assembly constituency.

  • Below you find your name, assembly constituency, Voter Id Card Number. If your name is wrong, then you will see here.

  • Now first of all, after scrolling down, you have to tick the section 4 and mark the correct entry that you want to improve.

  • Now whatever corrections you have to make, write it in the section below.

The option that you have ticked for correction will now be the only highlight and you will be able to fill your correct details in the same.

  • Once the correct information filled, you have to upload your document in jpg format.After that enter your mobile number and email id.

  • Finally you have to fill the Place name and fill the captcha and click on Submit Button.

  • You will get a message on your computer screen which say "Thank you for submitting the form". Here you will find the reference number.


So, in this way you can fill the Voter Id Card Online Correction Form 8 and get your Voter Id Card improved.
