What is Swamitva Yojana?

The Prime Minister of our Country, Shri Narendra Modi has dreamed of Digital India and from time to time he has started some online plan to fulfill his dream. In order to progress India, the people of rural areas will have to be made digital to create a Digital India. With this objective, the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has launched the PM Rural Swamitva Yojana.

The scheme will be linked to the online portal of Village Swaraj under PM Swamitva yojana launched by PM Shri Narendra Modi, as a result of which problems like land mafia, forgery, plunder of land etc. will be removed and villagers will get full details of their properties. Under this scheme, the provision of complete survey of the village has been made with the help of drone camera, and after mapping, the villager who has the fundamental right on the property in the village is fully registered in his name.

Also, after this registration, the PM ownership/Swamitva card will be given to the villager which will prove that this person has the right over this property.


PM Swamitva Yojana Update:-

The PMO said that, during the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Swamitva Yojana, a link will be sent to the mobile of one lakh property holders, with the help of this they will be able to download their property card.

Right now, under the PM Swamitva Yojana, 763 villages in 6 states will be issued PM Swamitva Card i.e Property Card.

These 6 states include 346 Villlages in Uttar Pradesh, 221 in Haryana, 100 in Maharashtra, 44 in Madhya Pradesh and 50 in Uttarakhand and 2 villages in Karnataka.

In Maharashtra, a fee has been kept for the Swamitva Card under PM Swamitva Yojana, in other states, the fee has not been ensured yet. Due to this fee, the process of downloading the PM Swamitva Card will be a bit slow and this card can be downloaded after about a month.

The PM has directed the scheme to be started in phased manner between the year 2020-2024. Its scope will cover about 6.62 lakh villages.


Objectives of PM Swamitva Yojana:-



The main objective of the PM Swamitva Yojana is to provide online maintenance of the land of the rural farmers and mapping of the land as well as their right to the owner, this step will give many benefits to the villagers, the work of land mafias will be eliminated, fraud and problems such as land waste or usurpation will also be end.


 Benefits of PM Swamitva Yojana:-

  • The process of property enrollment will be simplified under the Prime Minister's Swamitva Scheme.
  • Mapping of village, farm, land will be done by drone under PM Swamitva scheme.
  • The verification process of the land will be expedited as well as help in preventing the case of land mafias and land corruption.
  • Loan Facility will also be available to the farmers coming under Gram Panchayats.
  • The real owner of the land will be able to get the right to his property and he will also be given PM Swamitva/Property Card.
  • The scheme is being operated through Gram Panchayat and E-Gram Portal.

How to apply for PM Swamitva Yojana?

The online registration process of the PM Swamitva Yojana is carried out through dedicated portal i.e egramswaraj.gov.in. Follow the below steps for online registration procedure:-

  • Visit the official website i.e https://egramswaraj.gov.in/
  • On the home page, click on "New User Registration"
  • You will be redirected to Registration page on the portal.
  • Enter the required details in the application form.
  • Verify all the details and submit the application form.
  • Registration process completed now, note down your application number for future purpose.
