PM Saubhagya Yojana was started by the Prime Minister of our country, Shri Narendra Modi, with the objective of giving free electricity to the poor. As you all know electricity has become a necessity for all in today's era, it is not possible to live without electricity, but there are some sections of our country who have not yet got electricity in their home. The reason for this is that they are financially weak and not able to take an electricity connection. To overcome this problem, the Prime Minister Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana was launched under which all these poor and needy people will be given electricity connection for free.


Main Objectives of Pradhan Mantri Saubhagya Scheme:-

  • Under PM Saubhagya Yojana, the area of the country which has not yet got the electric wires, there will be a Solar pack provided by the central government, with the help of which 5 Led bulbs and a fan can run.
  • A budget of rs 16320 crore has also been allocated by the central Government for the smooth running of PM Saubhagya Yojana.
  • Under the Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana, subsidies will also be provided by the central government on devices such as transformer wires and meters.
  • To conduct this scheme and to make people aware, the government will bring awareness to the people by setting up camps in every village, as well as the need for electricity connection will be explained and help will also be provided to the people in order to get electricity in their homes.
  • Under PM Saubhagya Yojana, another big benefit will be given to the people by government, under which the government will also bear the cost of repairing the battery bank for 5 years.
  • Under PM Saubhagya Yojana, the central government will meet the target of providing electricity to every Village and every city.

How to apply for PM Saybhagya Yojana?


  • First of all, visit the official website of PM Saubhagya Yojana
  • Click on the Guest option on the home page. Then sign in there.
  • Now a new page will open where you will enter the Id (Email Id or Mobile Number) and password.
  • You can register after signing in.

  • The family should not have an electricity connection.
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Address Proof
  • Identity Proof.
  • PAN Card or Voter Id Card
  • Applicant's Passport size photo
  • Bank Passbook
