EPFO - One wiil get 8.5% Interest but in 2 Installements

The Corona Epidemic has affected the payments of shareholders of EPF. The Central Board of Employee's Provident Fund Organisation has decided to pay the interest in two installments. EPF interest of 8.5% partitioned as 8.15% and 0.35%. 0.35% can be paid by December. 

The EPFO had earlier planned to sell its funds invested in exchange traded. The decision was taken to make full payment of interest at 8.5% interest rate to EPF Shareholders ,but could not be done due to heavy upheaval in the market due to Covid 19.

One can check their EPF balance either by SMS Service , Missed Call Service or via EPFO Portal.

EPF Balance through SMS Service:-

UAN must be activated to avail this service. One can check his/her EPFO balance by sending SMS to "7738299899" from registered Mobile Number.

EPF Balance through Missed Call Service:-

One can get their EPF Balance details by giving missed call to "011-22901406" from their registered mobile number. Both the service are free of cost.

EPF Balance through EPF Portal:-

One can check their EPF Balance through EPF Portal, Just logged in by using UAN Number as login Id and password.Once logged in, one can see his/her passbook and account Statement.


Once can also check his/her EPF Balance through "UMANG" app. One need to install the app from play store and click on EPFO on the app.Visit on Employee Centric Services and click on View Passbook. Ones need to enter Aadhaar Number and OTP sent on registered mobile number in order to view EPF Balance.
